WHO WE ARE?
DermaGem Makeup Artistry it’s owned by Damariz Candelario, a Master Makeup Artist with over 14 years of experience in the Beauty Industry as a Skin Care Specialist, Makeup Artist, Massage Therapist and Pharmacy Technician. Miss Candelario holds a vast experience in international Spas & Resorts as well as military bases and Community Colleges and has received training with the best educators in the Makeup and Beauty Industry in the US, including Leonard Engleman, Chairman for the Academy Awards for Makeup Artists in Hollywood and former Director of Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles.
TRAINING:
Understanding the busy schedule of each individual, classes are schedule according to their availability in a Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm basis. Classes are resrved to a maximum of 2 students per class to ensure the one-on-one education. We’re not interested in making a quick buck, but to bring QUALITY professionals to the industry. We do not offer on-line training, as we strongly believe that there’s no better educational environment than a one-on-one class.
Students must reserved their space within 10 days in advance. Students outside San Antonio, including international students, Airport & Hotel pick-up and drop-off is available at no additional charge. A list of near by hotels and other accomodations is available. Students in other States that cannot travel to San Antonio, we require at least 10 students in order to provide a training in your city.
If you are a hairstylist or an Artist that will like to ‘brush-up’ your skills and knowledge, a 1 day class will be the best for you. If you’re starting in the Industry, 2 – 3 days are the best for you as we have to cover from the very basis (although you might have an idea or have read some books) to the intermediate to advance… nobody learned to ride a bike without learning how to walk first, right? It is the same in our trainings, regardless your experience or knowledge, we have to answer the how’s, the what’s and the why’s first before you move forward to the techniques. We like to ensure all your questions are answered and that you can proudly hold our Certificate knowing that you have learned (and earned) and can start up as a Professional Makeup Artist.
